Padel Project UK Expands to Darlington with New 4-Court Facility at Darlington RFC

Padel Project UK, the UK’s leading padel operator, is excited to announce the opening of its newest site, a cutting-edge 4-court facility located at Darlington Rugby Football Club (RFC). The new site is part of Padel Project UK’s ongoing mission to bring the sport of padel to communities across the country, making it accessible to all.

This new facility will offer a vibrant and welcoming environment for players of all levels, featuring top-quality, floodlit courts. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, the site will cater to a broad range of abilities and provide a social and accessible sporting experience. The opening is part of the company’s larger ambition to roll out padel facilities across the UK, in line with their mission: “Bringing Padel to Everyone, Everywhere.”

Tim Foster, CEO of Padel Project UK, said:

“We are incredibly excited to bring this state-of-the-art padel facility to Darlington. Our goal is to create spaces where people from all backgrounds can come together, get active, and enjoy padel in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. This facility is another step toward making padel a mainstream sport across the UK, and we can’t wait to see the Darlington community embrace it.”

The Darlington site will be managed by Dan Stockell, the club’s new manager. With a wealth of experience in sports management, Dan will ensure a seamless experience for players, from beginners to more experienced players. He is looking forward to welcoming both new and seasoned players to the facility.

Andy Gunnell, Chairman of Darlington RFC, expressed his excitement about the partnership:

“Darlington Rugby Football Club is pleased to see the completion of the Padel Project UK facility at Blackwell Meadows. The opening of four new padel courts adds to the number and type of sports available, and offers both members and the wider community an exciting new game, alongside rugby union, association football and archery. We are confident that this opportunity will increase sporting activity in the area, especially among children and young adults, while showcasing our excellent facilities.”

Padel Project UK’s commitment to inclusivity is reflected in its offering, with affordable access to the sport for all. The organisation’s ethos is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, ability, or physical status, can enjoy the benefits of padel, while also fostering a sense of community.

The official launch date for the Darlington facility is 17th January 2025.
