Padel Comes to South Shields with Joleon Lescott
We’re thrilled to announce that Padel Project UK’s fifth club is opening soon in South Shields — officially launched by Joleon Lescott on Friday 8 November 🎉
This exciting new venue at South Shields & Westoe Rugby Club (35 Dean Road, Westoe, South Shields, NE33 4EA) will bring padel to the local community with five floodlit panoramic courts, on-site racket hire, and a full programme of coaching, social sessions, and open play for players of all levels.
There are already thriving squash and tennis communities at the site, and the addition of padel completes the line-up of leading racquet sports available in South Shields.
There’s no membership required, and online bookings are open to all. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or already hooked, you’ll find sessions to suit every level.
Free Launch Event with Joleon Lescott — Friday 8 November, 11am–3pm
To celebrate the opening, we’re hosting a free launch event featuring exhibition matches, coached taster sessions, food, and drinks. Visitors can join in a session, play a few friendly games, or simply come along to enjoy the atmosphere.
