Job Summary:

We're looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Club Manager to oversee the daily operations of our padel courts at our Darlington club. Your role will include ensuring the courts are safe, equipment is in top condition, and most importantly, that our players have an exceptional experience.

A good understanding and playing ability of padel is a must-have, as a key part of your role will be coaching and running new padel initiatives to help keep the club busy and growing.

This role combines customer service, maintenance, and administrative tasks, making it ideal for a self-starter who enjoys an active work environment and shares our vision of bringing padel to everyone, everywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Communication & Safety
    Create a welcoming environment for players, assist clients on-site where needed, promote upcoming events, and manage WhatsApp communications for court availability, events, and general enquiries.

    Court & Site Maintenance
    Ensure courts are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Perform regular checks on nets, glass panels, and sand distribution. Keep the site free from obstructions and maintain seating areas, safety equipment, and access points.

    Stock & Equipment Management / Sales
    Monitor and maintain rental rackets, conduct regular stock checks, ensure all equipment meets safety standards, and coordinate any racket or ball sales.

    Coach Coordination
    Ensure coaching sessions are covered and coordinate substitute coaches when needed. We use the Playtomic app for all bookings and class management. You will be required to be proficient in this application, with full training provided by Padel Project UK.

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour with clients

  • Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail

  • Ability to handle court and site maintenance tasks and ensure safety on-site

  • Previous facility management experience preferred but not required

  • Good understanding and playing ability of padel (evidence to be provided)

  • County-level experience in another racquet sport is also accepted

  • Padel coaching qualification preferred but not required

  • Mandatory First Aid provision (training offered if not certified)

Remuneration

This is a full-time position. Hours will be worked flexibly between 8:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday, in line with the needs of the business. You are entitled to a 60-minute unpaid break each working day. Additional hours may be required at times, as authorised and necessitated by the needs of the business.

Remuneration is competitive and will be discussed with successful candidates.

You will also have the opportunity to offer coaching services at rates agreed within a separate Coaching Agreement with Padel Project UK Limited. Private coaching rates are agreed separately and arranged at your own discretion.
